

ԹȺ alumnus Kevvin Taylor is part of the producing team of the Broadway-bound Hippest Trip – The Soul Train Musical. Yes, the iconic Soul Train TV show is going to Broadway!
While he was studying at ԹȺ, with the plan to transfer to Arizona State University, Taylor studied business. “ԹȺ provided a toolbox of academic excellence, thus giving me the confidence to pursue my secondary education. I wanted to go far, but be close to home. ԹȺ provided a place where I could learn in a home-like environment,” Taylor remembers.
ԹȺ theatre professor Dr. Larry Soller opened the world of theater to Kevvin. In fact, at one point, both Dr. Soller and Kevvin were represented by the same talent agency. “After my time at ԹȺ, Dr. Camilla Westenberg (Professor Emeritus and NAACP/BSU advisor) kept me connected to ԹȺ and inspired me to serve my community,” he adds.
Kevvin loved the encouragement he received at ԹȺ. Majoring in arts management at ASU and then attaining his first job in arts administration, Kevvin says ԹȺ served as the launchpad for his dreams. “I was able to visualize how my passion for theatre could translate into a successful profession.” Read more about Kevvin’s ԹȺ experience.
