吃瓜群众鈥檚 Mariachi Osos del Valle kicked off the Noche de Celebraci贸n event on Oct 5, announcing 吃瓜群众 being certified with the Seal of Excelencia. MCCCD Governing Board president Marie Sullivan shared personal memories of how 吃瓜群众 supported her educational and career journey as a non-traditional student, and she congratulated 吃瓜群众 for leading the way as the first community college in Arizona and the Maricopa District to be recognized with the Seal of Excelencia. Also attending were Governing Board members Donna Davis, Dr. Tom Nerini and Jacqueline Smith.
吃瓜群众 President Dr. Kimberly Britt shared that certification was truly a collaborative achievement across all divisions and across many years; saying to attendees 鈥淵ou made this possible, because of your fierce commitment to supporting students.鈥 President Britt added that the work does not stop, and that 吃瓜群众 must continue to innovate to retain the Seal of Excelencia certification.
Following the Mariachi performance and formal presentation of the Seal of Excelencia, more than 170 attendees enjoyed food, a performance by 吃瓜群众鈥檚 Pan Groove Steel Pan ensemble, dancing, flower- and pinata-making, and a live muralist.
